The Vibe
La Baule sits on a six-mile arc of sand once called the most beautiful bay in the world. L’Hermitage is a grand Barrière property right on that beach, with a spa, pool, and exceptional service. This is the most classic grand beach hotel of the group. It is also the furthest west, about 3.5 hours from Cabourg by car, but if beach above everything else is the priority, this is the one.

The Vibe
This 18th-century Norman manor sits on a wooded hillside overlooking the Seine estuary, on the coast where Monet and the Impressionists came to paint. Eleven individually decorated rooms, a restaurant with sea views, a spa, and grounds that feel genuinely private. The most intimate and characterful option on this list, and also the most affordable. Note that this room does not have a balcony, and full payment is charged at booking, though the stay is fully refundable until July 12.

The Vibe
Étretat is the town you asked for, and this is the hotel that sits directly on its seafront promenade — right between the Falaise d’Aval and Falaise d’Amont, the two chalk arches that make Étretat famous. The room has a private balcony looking straight at the sea and the cliffs. It’s a smaller, more characterful property than the others on this list, and it’s also by far the most affordable. Note that breakfast is not included in this rate, and full payment is charged at booking.
